It is the small things that have made the transition from Alterian over to SDL an ever increasing reality in the last week. The green carpet samples, the updating of social profiles and the addition of more and more SDL Buddies (pictured) into the Bristol office – not to mention the planning meetings and cross-company teamwork that has been taking place behind the scenes.
The SDL acquisition of Alterian is a good thing. It provides additional resources, progress and the opportunity to bring existing complementary products and services together under one formidable roof. The realisation on SDL’s part that their impressive roster of products and dominant market position could only be strengthened by adding the additional layers of Campaign Management and Social Intelligence, will deliver further market disrupting benefits.
The Alterian coffee cups may remain for the next few weeks, the Alterian FC football kit will stay white and emblazoned with the old ‘Venn’ logo until next season, but the changes that take effect at the business level and the benefits for the existing Alterian and SDL customers will sooner be apparent.
If January 1st is the de facto date for new beginnings and fresh approaches, the Alterian staff have a renewed sense of purpose as of 30th January, new opportunities to reach for and new carpet to look forward to.
Thank you for being loyal Alterian customers and supporters. We know you will benefit from being part of the SDL family for years to come.
